AWC supports Boiler MACT decision

WASHINGTON – American Wood Council (AWC) President and CEO Robert Glowinski has issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit (D.C. Circuit) Court decision to remand the Boiler Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) rules back to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). AWC supported EPA’s request for a remand.

WASHINGTON – Today, the final rule on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Formaldehyde Standards for Composite Wood Products Act was published in the Federal Register. The American Wood Council (AWC) supported the legislation passed in 2010. AWC President and CEO Robert Glowinski issued the following statement in response to the final rule.

AWC supports a smarter, more cost-effective regulatory process

WASHINGTON – American Wood Council (AWC) President and CEO Robert Glowinski issued the following statement regarding today's passage of the Require Evaluation before Implementing Executive Wishlists (REVIEW) Act (H.R. 3438) by the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill would require a federal agency to postpone the effective date of a high-impact rule, defined as any rule that may impose an annual cost on the economy of at least $1 billion, pending judicial review.

WASHINGTON – American Wood Council (AWC) President and CEO Robert Glowinski issued the following statement regarding today's passage of the Regulatory Integrity Act of 2016 (H.R. 5226) by the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill directs each agency to make publicly available on its website or in the rulemaking docket on Regulations.gov a list of each pending regulatory action, the date the agency began to develop or consider the action, its status, an estimate of the date it will be final and in effect, a brief description of such action, and each public communication about the action issued by the agency.
