WASHINGTON – Today in Albany, N.Y., representatives of the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) and the American Wood Council (AWC) are meeting with state lawmakers to discuss legislative proposals that would affect the 30,000 New Yorkers who work in the industry.

LEESBURG, VA. – The American Wood Council has been approved by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education System as a provider of continuing education.

LEESBURG, VA. – The American Wood Council has been awarded a $250,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to conduct research on the fire performance of mass timber buildings. AWC will partner with the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) Fire Protection Research Foundation and the Property Insurance Research Group.

LEESBURG, VA. – The American Wood Council's 2015 Permanent Wood Foundation Design Specification (PWF) standard has been approved by the American National Standards Institute as an American National Standard. The PWF is referenced in the International Code Council's 2015 International Residential Code and International Building Code.
