LEESBURG, VA. – The American Wood Council (AWC) will welcome Jackson Morrill, President of the Composite Panel Association (CPA), as AWC’s new President & CEO on September 16. He is succeeding Robert Glowinski, who is retiring at the end of the year after over 41 years with the wood products industry’s associations and the last 10 years spent as AWC’s President & CEO.

AWC Encouraged by Mass Timber Provisions Included in NDAA

WASHINGTON – American Wood Council (AWC) President and CEO Robert Glowinski issued a statement following today’s vote approving Amendment 358 to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2021. The amendment includes language directing the Secretary of Defense to review the potential for incorporating innovative wood products in the construction or renovation of Department of Defense facilities.

AWC Applauds Georgia Passage of Tall Mass Timber Bill

LEESBURG, VA. – The American Wood Council (AWC) President and CEO Robert Glowinski issued a statement following Governor Brian Kemp signing HB 777, which directs the state Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and its State Codes Advisory Committee to look at and evaluate the International Code Council’s (ICC) 2021 tall mass timber building code changes for early adoption. The agency will begin its review this summer and complete its work by July 1, 2021.
