AWC applauds USDA Under Secretary confirmation

WASHINGTON – American Wood Council (AWC) President and CEO Robert Glowinski issued the following statement in response to James (Jim) Hubbard’s confirmation as Under Secretary of Agriculture for Natural Resources and Environment at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Hubbard worked for the Colorado Forest Service for 35 years and served as the state’s chief forester for the last 20 years.

LEESBURG, VA. – Nine American Wood Council (AWC) environmental product declarations (EPDs) for North American wood products have been granted a one-year extension by Underwriters Laboratories Environment (ULE), an independent certifier of products and their sustainability.

AWC: Washington state helping revolutionize how America builds

WASHINGTON – American Wood Council (AWC) President and CEO Robert Glowinski issued a statement following Governor Jay Inslee signing SB 5450, which directs the state of Washington to enact the tall wood building code changes when adopted by the International Code Council. The move will help jump start mass timber construction in the state.

AWC committed to White House Conference on Resilient Building Codes

WASHINGTON – The American Wood Council (AWC) is participating in today’s White House Conference on Resilient Building Codes where the Administration, and private and public collaborators will discuss the role of building codes in furthering community resilience, and the economic benefits of resilient design. The event is also hosted by the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) and coincides with National Building Safety Month.
