WASHINGTON – American Wood Council (AWC) President and CEO Robert Glowinski and American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) President and CEO Donna Harman issued the following statements following United States House of Representatives passage of the Ozone Standards Implementation Act of 2017 (H.R. 806). The legislation, which now moves to the United States Senate for consideration, prevents a rushed implementation of the 2015 ozone Nation Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).

WASHINGTON – American Wood Council (AWC) President and CEO Robert Glowinski issued the following statement regarding today's mark-up of the Regulatory Accountability Act (S. 951) by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The bill aims to modernize the process federal agencies use when they write the regulations that most significantly affect the lives of all Americans. It was introduced by Sens. Rob Portman (OH) and Heidi Heitkamp (ND).

Cal/OSHA decides not to lower permissible wood dust exposure after AWC testimony

WASHINGTON – The California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) Standards Board declined a staff proposal to lower the existing permissible exposure limit (PEL) for wood dust from 5 milligrams per cubic meter to 1 milligram per cubic meter after testimony from the American Wood Council (AWC).
