WASHINGTON – The American Wood Council (AWC) today applauded the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) recognition of the Green Globes® building assessment and certification program. Specifically, the new DOD policy expands the ability of the department to verify building sustainability using GSA-approved certification systems, which now include both the Green Building Initiative's Green Globes and the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®).
