BCD120 – Significant Changes to the 2015 IBC, NDS, and SDPWS

What are the latest trends in the world of code development related to wood? How are wood design standards keeping up with technology? This presentation will provide an overview of some of the significant code changes for wood construction per the International Code Council's 2015 International Building Code (IBC) and American Wood Council's 2015 National Design Specification® (NDS®) for Wood Construction and 2015 Special Design Provisions for Wind and Seismic (SDPWS).

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Understand significant changes between the 2012 and 2015 IBC.
  2. Understand significant changes between the 2012 and 2015 NDS.
  3. Be aware of significant changes between the 2008 and 2015 SDPWS.
  4. Know the overall format and content within the 2015 NDS and 2015 SDPWS.

Equivalencies: 2.0 Hours of Instruction = 0.2 Continuing Education Units (CEU) = 2 Professional Development Hours (PDH) = 2 Learning Units (LU)
