Design Professionals need to stay abreast of wood industry issues and changing building design standards. To help professionals stay informed about the technical issues affecting the wood industry, the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) has created the Technical Inquiry Clearinghouse (TIC).

The TIC or Help Desk of the American Wood Council (AWC) has as its goal to provide clear, consistent, and accurate technical information on wood industry developments, association activity, and new publications. The Help Desk also provides special reports on engineering, building codes, standards, fire technology, and research projects to members and non-members through the use of tools including:

The American Wood Council (AWC), the domestic wood products group of AF&PA, provides wood design and construction information to assist engineers and architects, develops structural and fire performance data on a wide range of traditional and engineered wood products, and engages in long-term research.
